Social Services Case Manager


Job Description:

Under supervision, learns to provide investigative and comprehensive case management for a caseload involving child/adult abuse or neglect.

Job Duties:

Accesses and records client and community resource information
Assists in collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and prepares necessary reports according to rules and regulations, state, and federal laws
Assists in identifying placement resources for children within the foster care system
Compiles records and prepares reports
Performs follow-up to determine the status of client' s case
Conducts home-visit evaluations for information gathering to be used in assessments
Coordinates and monitors children in out-of-home placements and in-home interventions
Learns to perform initial investigations of protective services referrals in determining the appropriateness of protective services intervention
Learns to work in collaboration with legal system to ensure safety and achieve desired outcomes
Maintains required documentation and completes reports
Assist staff with follow up contacts
Input information in state database
Provide additional support to the unit.

Requirements:

Bachelor' s degree from an accredited college or university
Child welfare background
Be able to pass a background check
Key Skills: good listening, organizational, interpersonal skills, compassionate, problem-solving, and time management skills
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel Spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, presentation, and medical software programs
