Financial Reporting Specialist

The Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for analyzing budget and actuals data (totals as well as details) to ensure the accuracy and/or soundness of this data. The incumbent is also responsible for year-end close out functions and keeping track of available fund balances as needed to ensure appropriate spending levels by fund.
Analyze budget status and recommends budget adjustments/transfers as needed
Determines appropriate fund sources for new budget initiatives
Performs maintenance of detailed staff listing report
Keep track of salary and salary budget data by position staff position to reflect all personnel actions
Manage all budgetary, financial reporting and transaction tracking responsibilities for the division including preparation of various budget status reports, charts, and graphs for Leadership
Process monthly budget amendments (and as needed throughout the month) for departmental budgets, as well as projects
Compute complex salary adjustments for vacant staff positions and staff positions that become vacant during the fiscal year
Report salary adjustments on the monthly budget amendments
Review and approve all HR actions for any changes or updates to departmental staff and students
Take a lead role in the original budget setup process for all funds including providing recommendations on budgets for fund groups that require revenue forecasts
Bachelor' s degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft HR, and advanced Excel functions.
