Production Manager


The production manager is responsible for the manufacturing operations of the foam, print, and wrapping departments, which operates 24/7. The candidate will assign work and provide hands-on supervision of the production supervisors while following directives, policies, and procedures of the company and the plant manager.


  • Directly supervise four production supervisors that manage the production, print, packing, and maintenance operations during their designated shift
  • Supervise both the production and raw materials coordinator and the print and quality coordinator
  • Indirectly manage a workforce of approximately 125 to 135 hourly employees engaged in the manufacturing of foam cups and containers
  • Scheduling and plan for production, print, and wrap operations
  • Complete production and efficiency reports daily along with inputting data into the database
  • Achieving established production schedules and efficiencies while monitoring equipment, processes and operating techniques on a continuous basis to assure quality and safety standards are met
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to maintain equipment and utilities in proper working condition and monitor to assure equipment is utilized in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure maximum use of raw materials while minimizing scrap levels to attain company standards
  • Provide accurate records of production, employee absenteeism, accidents, wage increases, vacations, and overtime along with inputting data as required to maintain records
  • Work with quality control personnel to ensure product quality and take appropriate action(s) when necessary based on the information they provide
  • Conduct job, safety, and ad-hoc training sessions with supervisors and shift personnel
  • Communicate and enforce company work rules and policies
  • Enforce plant safety rules, housekeeping standards, and employee work practices in accordance with company policies and OSHA/FDA regulations
  • Perform annual performance evaluations of direct reports
  • Follow all GMP and sanitation guidelines along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the plant manager

Physical Demands:

  • Receive a pass on a pre-employment physical.
  • Work an 8+ hour shift while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting throughout the entire shift

Working Conditions:

  • In-doors in a manufacturing environment that is not air conditioned
  • Wear PPE while working which includes hairnet, hearing protection, and safety glasses with side guards
  • Work a 8+ hour day or night shift


  • Bachelor s Degree (Engineering or Industrial Management background is a plus)
  • Seven years of supervision in a food grade manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literacy
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Adept oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
